Fried Chicken and Waffle.

Welcome to another blurry photo fest of a post!

Each table received some cornbread.
Iced Tea, of course!
Smothered Pork Chops, Potato Salad, Greens.

Actually, neither JS nor I ordered this pork chop dish. It is a stranger's meal!
While JS and I were eating, there was a line-up forming. A middle-aged guy who was in line alone (a retired cop, he said, who now runs a car service) asked us if he could just sit at our table. A little surprised, we said yes.
He seemed to enjoy his lunch.
Condiments for our Waffle dishes: maple syrup, ketchup, hot sauce.
The blur, the blur!!!

JS ordered the Waffle and Fried Chicken called The Rev. Al Sharpton on the menu (photo at the beginning of the post), while I ordered the above Waffle and Fried Catfish, The Rev. Thomas Johnson. I must say, I was eyeing JS's fried chicken throughout the meal. ;)
Fried Catfish and Waffle, with maple syrup and hot sauce.

So you ate the Pork Chop even though it was not for you? Anyway waffle with meat is such a weird combination but I think I would have loved it.
ReplyDeleteThis is in Harlem right? I remember how afraid for my safety I was when I went to Sylvia's in Harlem (same southern cooking style) for dinner at night. LOL!
Ben
Fried chicken and waffles I've done, but fried fish and waffles? Eeek!
ReplyDeleteI have done bacon on waffles with maple syrup drizzle over everything. I quite like it due to the savory and sweet tastes in everything. :P
ReplyDeleteBen & Suanne:
ReplyDeleteHaha, no... I just asked him if I could take a picture of his plate.
Yup, Harlem. Haha, that's kind of funny. But my father kept telling us not to go to Harlem... but we went anyway. It's safe! Hehe.
Wandering Chopsticks:
They had all sorts of things with waffles... even 2 kids of fried fish!
tigerfish:
Yes, exactly! I like how it's both sweet and savory! =)
